Dr. Michael Weinhold

As Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Michael Weinhold has headed the Technology and Innovation staff department in the Siemens Energy Sector since March 2007. Born on February 2, 1964, in Rüsselsheim, Germany, Weinhold completed his studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 1993, earning a PhD in electrical engineering. He began his professional career that same year at Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD). After holding management-level positions in the Network Planning Department, he switched over to operative business in the High Voltage Division as technical director for SVC technology. In 2004, he was named head of the Technology and Innovation Department at PTD.
